Prerequisites

Steps to Install Android 5.1 Lollipop on Nexus 5
Step-1: Extract your downloaded firmware file on your computer.
Step-2: Now copy these files on your ADB Fastboot folder.
Step-3: Connect your smartphone to your PC with USB cable.
Step-4: Now browse to ADB folder on C drive (C:\ADB\) of your computer and open the command prompt window here. [Hold Shift Key + Right click] on any black space of that folder and click on “Open Command Window here”
Step-5: Type the following command on Command Windows and press enter
“fastboot devices”
This will list the devices attached with your computer. If your phone shown then continue. If NOT listed install USB drivers again.
Step-6: Now run the following command to boot your device in Fastboot mode.
“adb reboot bootloader”
Step-7: Now Nexus 5 will reboot in Fastboot mode. Now go to the ADB folder and click on the “flash-all” file to start flashing ROM. You will see the progress on screen
Step-8: Finally your phone will reboot when the process completes. Then unplug your Nexus 5
Done! Now your Nexus 5 is running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop.
