How to Root Huawei P8 and Install TWRP Recovery

Huawei, one of the largest smartphone providers over the world, has brought Huawei P8 with much high hardware specification. It’s one of the latest smartphones with a very reasonable price as compare to other android smartphone. Preps & Requirements:

• Install Huawei USB driver on your computer. [Driver Link]

• Take proper backup of your important data on the device before proceeding.

• Your device battery should have at least 70% charge.

• Also enable USB Debugging Mode on your Huawei P8, got to [Settings >Developer options].

• Create backup of your existing ROM, through Nandroid backup from recovery.

How to Root Huawei P8 and Install TWRP Recovery

Steps to Install TWRP Recovery on Huawei P8:

Step-1: Extract the downloaded ADB and Fastboot package on your PC desktop.

Step-2: Now connect your device with PC, and copy the SuperSU.zip on the root directory of device’s internal storage.

Step-3: Then on the PC, Open the extracted ADB and Fastboot folder.

Step-4: Double click on “py-cmd.exe” file on that folder, to open command prompt window.

Step-5: Now in command window, enter command “adb devices” to check your device connectivity status. [check your device on the list displayed]

Step-6: If your device is listed then enter command “adb reboot-bootloader” to boot your device into bootloader mode.

Step-7: Once your device is in bootloader mode enter command “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” to flash TWRP recovery on Huawei P8.

Step-8: After the TWRP recovery is installed, select recovery from Fastboot Mode on the device. You will get TWRP recovery mode.

Step-9: Once your device is on TWRP recovery, tap on “Reboot” to boot your device normally.

Steps Root Huawei P8:

Step-1: Make sure that you have transtered the SuperSU.zip file to your device, it not copy it now.

Step-2: Then turn your device OFF completely.

Step-3: Now boot your device into Recovery Mode, via [press and hold Volume Down + Power Key] together for a while.

Step-4: Now once you are on recovery mode, tap on “Install” then locate and select the SuperSU.zip file and swipe at the bottom to confirm flashing it.

Step-5: After SuperSU.ZIP flashing gets finished, go back to recovery main menu and top on “Reboot” to boot your device normally.

Step-6: After boot up on main app drawer find SuperSU, open it and if prompt for binary updates, do it and click Normal.
