Prerequisites:
- Properly backup yours phone data before starting the flash process
- Do charge your device battery at least 70%
- Use an original data cable for smooth connectivity of your device with PC.
- Download and install universal USB driver for OnePlus X on your PC: Link
- Enable USB Debugging Mode [Settings => Developer options => USB Debugging].
- TWRP recovery must be installed on your device.
STEPS TO ROOT AND INSTALL TWRP RECOVERY ON ONEPLUS X:
Step No 1: First of all, download the ADB and Fastboot file on your Computer: Full Guide
Step No 2: Now connect your OnePlus X to Computer and Go to phone settings => Developer options & check “Android debugging”. A dialogue box will show and asking you to authorize your computer’s RSA fingerprint. Click on “Always”.
Step No 3: Now Unlock the Bootloader, open the ADB folder on your PC that you created in step no 1.
Step No 4: From this folder Open the command prompt window, To do this Hold Shift button on your keyboard and right-click on the empty space of the folder.
Step No 5: Now boot your device in fastboot mode. TO do this enter the following command on the command prompt window:
adb reboot bootloader
Step No 6: Now your device will boot in fastboot mode. Check your fastboot connection by issuing this command:
fastboot devices
Step No 7: Once confirmed, type this command:
fastboot oem unlock
Step No 8: Now select YES on your OnePlus x screen. Use power button for select. The device will
unlock the bootloader, erase all user data & reboot itself into Android. You’ill have to set up everything from scratch.
Step No 9: Re-enable Android debugging & disable the recovery protection from developer options.
Step No 10: Now Download SuperSU zip file and transfer to the internal memory of your phone.
Step No 11: Download the TWRP image file and rename the file to recovery.img And place the
recovery.img file in the ADB folder that you created in Step 1.
Step No 12: Now connect your Oneplus X phone to the Computer via USB cable and boot in fastboot mode.
Step No 13: Open the ADB folder that you created in step 1. (If you already unlocked the bootloader then go to the step 7) from this folder Open the command prompt window, To do this Hold Shift button on your keyboard & right-click on the empty space of the folder.
Step No 14: Now boot your device in fastboot mode. To do this enter the following command on the command prompt window:
adb reboot bootloader
Step No 15: Now your device will boot in fastboot mode.
Step No 16: To install the recovery on your OnePlus X phone enter this following command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step No 17: Once completed, enter this command to boot in TWRP mode.
fastboot boot recovery.img
Step No 18: Now Press “Install,” locate the SuperSU zip file on the SD card and flash it.
Step No 19: Now Reboot your OnePlus X smartphone.
