Step to Install Android 5.1.1 Skydragon Lollipop Custom ROM on HTC One M7

Step-1: Extract boot.img file separately, from the already downloaded Skydragon custom ROM zip folder.

Step-2: Connect your HTC One M7 to your PC via USB Cable. Then copy/paste the Skydragon custom ROM .zip and Gapps .zip files on your device internal storage root folder, [Don’t paste on any subfolder]

Step-3: Copy the extracted boot.img file to android-sdk-tool\platform-tools folder on your computer.

Step-4: Disconnect the USB cable from your phone, and Turn off your phone and then boot into the bootloader mode.

Step-5: Once you are in Recovery Mode, perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”, also perform Dalvik cache wipe

Step-6: Once your device is in the Fastboot mode and connected to PC, go to android-sdk-tool\platform-tools folder and open “Command prompt window”. By [Holding shift key and right click on any empty white space of that folder and selecting Open command window here]

Step-7: Now on command prompt window, type the command “fastboot flash boot boot.img” and press enter.

Step-8: Select bootloader and go into recovery mode.

Step-9: Now on recovery mode perform cache wipe, select “Wipe Cache Partition”.

Step-10: Also perform Wipe Dalvik Cache. To get rid of boot loops issue. Select the “Advance options” on recovery mode and then select “Wipe Dalvik cache”.

Step-11: Select “go back” to go into recovery mode main screen and select “install zip from sdcard” from here.

Step-12: Then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Use volume key up/down to navigate between the options, select the Skydragon Android 5.1.1 ROM .zip file that you have copied to your sdcard and press the Power button and then confirm on the next screen to start the installation.

Step-13: Repeat the step-12 once again, but select the Gapps.zip file this time for installation, that you already copied on sdcard of your device.

Step-14: Once installations get finished, on the main recovery menu, select “reboot system now” to boot up your device. First boot up will take about 5 minutes.
